Raising Awareness and Funds for Prostate Cancer: Glenn Tupman’s 2-Day Bus Journey

Crest IT Prostate Cancer UK Bus Challenge

Earlier this year, our colleague Glenn Tupman visited his doctor for a blood test after a friend was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Although Glenn hadn’t been experiencing any symptoms, the blood test, scans, and a biopsy revealed that he had low-level prostate cancer (less than 10%). Currently, it requires no further action, but Glenn is being monitored every three months. In his words, he considers himself “one of the fortunate ones.”

Inspired by his experience, Glenn now strongly urges all men over the age of 50 to contact their GP and request a PSA blood test. Prostate Cancer UK estimates that 1 in 8 men will be affected by this disease. However, in Glenn’s circle of friends, it has affected 1 in 4, prompting him to take action to raise awareness and funds.
On Thursday, August 15th, Glenn will embark on a unique journey from his home in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, to the Prostate Cancer UK Head Office on Tooley Street in London, using only his bus pass! This journey will span over two days, involve more than ten different buses, and culminate in his arrival at Prostate Cancer UK’s office around 4:30 pm on Friday, August 16th.

Glenn’s goal is to raise £3,000 for Prostate Cancer UK and increase awareness about the importance of early detection.

On behalf of everyone at Crest IT and ABS A Betterway, we wish Glenn all the very best in his bus challenge and with his ongoing good health.
