We continue our Meet the Team series by catching up with Crest IT Account Manager, Hannah Burgin.
- How long have you worked at Crest IT? 7 Years.
- What does a typical day look like? My role revolves primarily around catering to customer needs. Throughout the day, I prioritise addressing enquiries, assisting customers in finding suitable hardware based on their specific requirements, and offering recommendations. Additionally, I am responsible for generating quotes, creating proposals, and overseeing ongoing projects. A significant portion of my week is spent away from my desk, as I frequently visit customers for regular reviews. During these visits, I actively contribute by providing insights and solutions to any challenges they may be facing. To ensure I offer the best advice, I stay updated on the latest trends in the marketplace. This knowledge allows me to make informed recommendations regarding how technology and software can enhance their business operations and meet their specific needs.
- Over the last 12 months, have you seen any trends / or challenges that businesses are facing around their IT systems? Cyber security is so important now more than ever, and we are seeing an increase in awareness to take more caution and action against various cyber threats. Emails can be particularly vulnerable to malware and viruses, and we have seen an alarming increase in sophisticated phishing emails, making it too easy for even the savviest user to fall victim of this type of attacks. This has resulted in a huge increase in demand for software solutions such as ProofPoint that can help combat this, as well as the awareness course we deliver to customers to educate their teams on the latest phishing emails.
- Can you give us one example of how Crest IT has helped a customer in the last 12 months? We recently welcomed a new customer to Crest IT, their prime objective was to review their IT Infrastructure to overall improve the performance of their IT systems to support company productivity. Key outcomes (so far) have included:
- Upgrading an out of warranty backup device, which resulted in a monthly cost saving.
- We implemented the Panda Adaptive defence 360 and Panda Patch management to ensure all devices were protected and that the software is monitored and kept up to date.
- Our team assisted with the re-cabling of an office, to better make use of the space and workstations.
- The recommendations we made for their server hardware resulted in a visible improvement in performance, and staff reported an increase in their ability to work more efficiently.
- We assisted the customer in gaining their Cyber Essentials Certification, this confirms their commitment to Cyber Security to their stakeholders and marketplace.
- Outdated laptops were replaced by hardware we sourced and supplied.
- Your predictions for the 12 months within IT. I predict that business continuity and disaster recovery solutions will be in higher demand over the coming year, as organisations realise their importance in minimising downtime and facilitating swift recovery from disruptions. With the increasing prevalence of cyber threats, natural disasters, and unforeseen incidents, businesses will prioritise comprehensive strategies to ensure uninterrupted operations. This will include measures such as data backup, redundant systems, cloud-based services, and disaster recovery planning. Integrating these solutions into their IT strategies will help businesses mitigate the impact of disruptions and restore normal operations quickly.
