Crest IT Solutions was delighted to support Next Step Trust by lending a hand in preparing the grounds for their Garden of Memories, a tranquil outdoor space designed for reflection, connection, and remembrance. A big thank-you to Dave, Rob, Brandon, and Hannah for getting stuck in and helping make the day such a success!
Next Step generously treated us to some delicious food during the day, making the experience even more enjoyable. It was a rewarding chance to contribute directly to a project that will have a lasting impact.
Supporting a Charity with Heart
For those who may not know, Next Step Trust is a registered charity dedicated to supporting adults across Calderdale with complex health needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities, and autism. Founded in 2006 by parents determined to create better opportunities for their sons and daughters after high school, the charity now operates three day services in Halifax, alongside a respite provision in Southowram.
Next Step has always aimed high. One of their earliest ambitions -to build a hydrotherapy pool – was successfully realised even amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. With that milestone behind them, they are now focused on a new dream: the Garden of Memories.
What the Garden Will Bring
The Garden of Memories is being designed as a peaceful, sensory-rich outdoor space that promotes emotional well-being and connection. Key features will include:

Spaces to honour loved ones, creating a sanctuary of remembrance.
This garden will offer a comforting and healing environment for Next Step’s service users, as well as a space to celebrate and remember those they’ve lost.
Bringing the Vision to Life
Next Step Trust is currently aiming to raise approximately £25,000 to make this garden a reality. Contributions – whether hands-on support like the work Crest IT Solutions provided, or financial donations – will play a crucial role in bringing this heartfelt project to life.
