ABS Foundation is proud to announce our support and involvement with the Wingmen charity by signing up as one of their Squadron Leader patrons.
Wingmen is a Community Interest Company (CIC) comprised of men who have faced the anguish of life’s darker moments, either personally or through the suffering of loved ones. Their mission is to make a difference by providing a dedicated phone line where men in similar situations can call and be heard with complete anonymity and without judgment.
Understanding that suffering in silence can be soul-destroying, Wingmen believe that making a connection with another person is the first step towards finding a resolution. Simply connecting can prevent an issue from becoming a crisis.
Wingmen volunteers do not offer advice but collaborate with various organisations to ensure no one is left without options. Whether discussing personal or professional worries, their volunteers, with both personal and professional experience, listen actively and respond appropriately.
Wingmen have identified a range of symptoms that might indicate someone needs support, including:
- Social Anxiety
- Anger or Frustration
- Feelings of Rejection
- Feelings of Remorse or Guilt
- Low Self-Esteem
- Low Motivation
- Trouble Sleeping
- Low Mood and Depression
- Loneliness
Any man who recognises these feelings is encouraged to reach out, for more information, please visit www.wingmen.org.uk.
The ABS Foundation is supported by Crest IT and sister company ABS A Better Way. Dave Lees, Crest IT Director comments “ABS Foundation is honoured to support such a vital cause and help spread the word about the incredible work Wingmen is doing to connect and support men in need”
